JAMMU, Sept 27: As a part of celebration on "National Voluntary Blood Donation Day, 2014", Indian Red Cross Society, Region Jammu and PG Department of Blood Transfusion and Medicines, Govt. Medical College, Jammu organized a symposium at Red Cross Auditorium, Red Cross Bhawan, Kachi Chawni, Jammu.
According to press release, the theme of the voluntary blood donation - 'A Need of the Hour' wherein students of Govt./Private Colleges of Jammu viz. GGM Science College, MIER College, K.C. Law College Jammu, Govt. MAM College, Commerce College, GCW Gandhi Nagar/Parade Jammu, Govt. College of Education Jammu & Govt. Polytechnic Colleges for Boys and Women Jammu participated.
The Symposium was inaugurated by RC Puri, Secretary Indian Red Cross Society, Region Jammu who also threw light on the importance of Voluntary Blood Donation and urged upon the students to donate blood voluntarily for the Humanitarian cause.
The students from the different Colleges spoke on the theme and selected by the Jury Members adjudged Meenakshi, GCW, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu 1st Prize Winner, Anchal Singh, Govt. MAM College, Jammu bagged 2nd Position whereas Kamal Saini, GGM Science College, Jammu & Aneet Kamal Kour, GCW, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu shared 3rd Position respectively. |
