| Sagar cornered by angry flood victims | | | | Jammu, Sept 27: Peoples anger against the absence of state govt machinery erupted in front of senior National Conference Minister Ali Mohd Sagar while he was taking stock of the relief measures in Khaniyaar area of Srinagar on Saturday. According to reports large number of local residents shouted slogans mocking the visits of NC ministers to flood affected areas at a time when people are still struggling to survive the fury of flood waters. According to official sources the security personnel accompnaying Sagar had to face a tough time in keeping the agitated youth at a safe distance in old city areas while others cornered him over the lack of coordination between different agencies in reaching out to the affected population. The general people also complained about lack of ration supplies at ration depots despite tall claims of distribution of free ration for a period of six months have been made by the state Chief Minister. It is learnt general people also complained about the absence of adequate shelter points where shelter less people would have been accommodated by the state govt to save themselves from the winter chill. |
