| JKNPP demands relief, ration for flood victims of Majalta | | | Udhampur, Sept 27 : Jammu and Kashmir National Panther Party (JKNPP) today staged a dharna at Majalta here and demanded relief and ration for flood victims of victims of the area. According to reports, party workers and sarpanches led by JKNPP youth leader Parshotam Singh today staged dharna outside tehsildar office at Majalta and urged the administration to release first installment of relief in the shape of ration, blankets, medicines and fuel in favour of flood victims. Speaking on the occasion, sarpanch Raj Kumar Sharma of Bharnara demanded immediate relief for the people affected by the recent flash floods and landslides at Majalta. He said that the administration had failed to act on time to provide relief to the affected people, particularly of the hilly areas. He said near about twenty days have passed and people of hilly and far-flung areas who have lost their shelters are in wait of relief from government but no one has come to listen to their problems till date. Majalta Sarpanch Dina Nath said that huge losses had been suffered by the victims who should be compensated adequately. He said that the people have lost entire standing crop in the block and the loss should be got assessed on priority. JKNPP demanded free ration to the flood victims for six months and also demanded waving off power and water bills . |
