| Expose faces of absent ministers, bureaucrats : Aam aadmi to Azad | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Sept 27, A day after former Chief Minister and leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad alleged that some of the ministers and senior bureaucrats fled Kashmir at the time of devastating floods, a demand has been raised by the political workers cutting across all party lines to identity the black sheep who showed their back instead of leading the relief and rescue operations from the front. Responding to the interview of Azad published in a Srinagar-based local daily, a senior Congress leader said, if Azad is aware of the fact that senior ministers and bureaucrats fled Srinagar he should make public their names so that people can really know the enemies of humanity. Meanwhile, large number of local volunteers who have been credited with the job of rescuing affected population claimed that in the first week of rescue and relief operations barring chief minister none of the senior minister was visible on ground zero. Even Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had claimed in TV interviews that he was asking the same question himself for about 36 hours about the absence of govt from ground zero. In Jammu BJP, Panthers party leaders claimed that the state govt should set up a commission of Inquiry and fix responsibility of those who were at the helm for dereliction of duty. PDP leaders have also demanded strict action against the govt functionaries as they ran away than taking part in the rescue of the affected population. |
