Kathua, Sept 28: Four persons received bullet injuries after a man, who happens to be their relative, opened fire with his double barrel gun on them following an old land dispute in Barwal area in Kathua. The injured identified as Pawan Singh, Surinder Singh, Kuldeep Singh and Rachpal Singh, all sons of Amarnath Singh, resident of Barwal Morh. "The injured persons were fencing a piece of land, located near Jammu-Pathankot National Highway, at Barwal Morh when a person identified as Shiv Charan Singh and his brother Tilak Raj, reached there and had a heated arguments with them as there was an old dispute over the land", said a senior police officer. Later, Shiv Charan fired upon the opposite party with his double barrel resulting into bullet injuries to them. Three of critically injured were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu while their brother Kuldeep Singh was admitted to district hospital Kathua. The police said the accused managed to escape from the spot and was still at large. "A manhunt has been launched to arrest him. A case under section 307 of RPC has been registered against him in police station Kathua," senior police officer said. |
