Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 4: Bhartiya Gujjar Mahasabha, J&K, state president Eshfaq-ur-Rehman Poswal, has demanded from the Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh to personally visit the forward areas of J&K, where the Pakistani Army has been continuously violating ceasefire and also targeting civilian areas.
In a letter written to the Home Minister, Poswal said that the people especially, in Sabjiyan, Poonch Sector, have been affected a lot in the firing and have been forced to migrate to safer places. "A teenager girl has been killed while some civilians have also been critically injured in the firing, but so far no minister, MLA or any other public representative and senior functionary from the state government has bothered to visit the area and take note of the people's problems", Poswal told the Home Minister in the letter and added, "The people are neither given any compensation by the state government nor they are being provided other essential commodities for their day to day survival". Poswal also demanded from the Union Home Minister to announce adequate compensation for the affected people besides ex-gratia to the family of the deceased and also to the injured. "Going by the recent experience regarding state government's failure in providing relief to the flood affected people, people have lost all hope in the state government", Poswal said and demanded Union Home Minister's intervention in the matter so that those affected in the firing are taken due care of.
