Flood hit youth on radar of terrorists for radicalization | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 4: The intelligence agencies have warned of the separatists and terrorists radicalizing the Kashmir youth who have suffered immensely in the floods. The inputs suggest that these anti-national elements are on look out for such youth to use them for their nefarious design. "Terrorists and separatists are not finding much youth in the cadre. Some ultra radical educated youth have joined terrorist outfits but their number is few. Now with floods many families have been completely uprooted and there is much frustration and disenchantment among such youth, which could be potential of them," said an official working in the intelligence agency. The warning is pregnant with more danger as Al-Qaeda has recently stated that it will set up base in India which it says is its now biggest target. In a recent incident an attempt by ultra radical Pakistan defence personnel to hijack a naval boat to target Indian navy, though he was shot dead by Pakistan security guards at the naval dock. The Kashmir region is being as seen as nurturing ground for the separatists and terrorists organization which have now spread there are of influence much beyond their traditional holds. An internal report of the Army, a selective portion of which was twisted in the national media, had also warned of such looming security danger. The Army though has been doing everything possible to root out terrorism and has extended huge help to the people in distress but its role is being deliberately tweaked to project it as an 'enemy' of the youth of the Kashmir. It's for this reason in social media pictures were uploaded suggesting that Army is deliberately dropping expired medicines or its relief is selective or that it's dropping relief in a teasing manner. "These all acts were done by the ultra radical youth of the Kashmir to put Army in a bad light with specific designs and now they will be spotting hapless youth to bring them into their fold. The situation will be developing in a dangerous manner," said the official. |
