Teen girl immolates self 10/4/2014 10:43:28 PM Early TImes Report Kishtwar, Oct 4: A 19 year old girl committed suicide by setting herself ablaze inside her home at Drabshalla Kishtwar here today late evening, police sources said. Police sources indentified the victim namely as Menakshi Devi d/o Bushan Lal of Drabshalla Kishtwar. According to police sources, Menakshi Devi of Drabshalla Kishtwar today at around 7:00pm allegedly committed suicide by setting herself ablaze at her home. Quoting family members, police sources said, "After pouring kerosene the girl set her self on fire, however family members immediately rush to help her after listening her cries and shifted her in serious condition to nearby Sub District Hospital (SDH) Thathri where she breathe her last." Soon after receiving information, Police team from Police Post Drabshala rushed to hospital and took the custody of the body of the deceased. Police officials in Kishtwar said that inquest proceeding has been initiated at PP Drabshalla to ascertain the cause behind the death of this teenage girl.
