| NPSU protests against DC Udhampur | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, Oct 4 : National Panthers Student Union (NPSU) activists held protest demonstration in the Jammu University Campus against Deputy Commissioner Udhampur for the failure of district administration to lift 25,000 metric ton ration from Udhampur railway station which had come from Uttrakhand State a week back and distribute the same among rain/flood hit families in the district. Addressing the students, State President, NPSU Thakur Virender Singh demanded immediate dismissal of the arrogant Deputy Commissioner Udhampur and high level judicial probe into the whole episode. Panthers' leaders alleged that the present Deputy Commissioner Yasha Mudgal has turned arrogant and indifferent towards the miseries and starving conditions of the flood victims including women and children. He said that the DC has on several occasions avoided to meet the public representatives and remove the problems of the suffering public in Udhampur district. The ration weighing 25000 metric ton got damaged at the railway station for timely transportation to safer godown (store) in the area for distribution to the affected people. The DC failed to make arrangements for distribution of the ration in time. Virender Singh demanded that a high level judicial probe should be ordered immediately to fix responsibility for damage of the ration. |
