| Slow response towards calamity affecting students' studies: Hamid Choudhary | | | | Jammu, Oct 4: People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader and Chief Election Coordinator for Jammu Province, Abdul Hamid Choudhary today said that thousands of educational institutions in Jammu as well as Srinagar regions were either still flooded with water or have crumbled beyond repair due to which studies of children are getting badly hit. Asking government to pick up the pace in reconstructing and repairing these damaged educational institutions, Hamid Choudhary said that slow response of coalition government towards natural calamity was affecting students' studies who were neither able to complete their studies not take examinations. The examination dates of many classes have already been postponed which is worrying students. The PDP leader urged the government to make sure that this year of students is not wasted. Ideally government should start classes from other safe buildings including Panchayat Ghars, community halls or vacant lying government accommodations so that students are able to complete their courses. A quick decision with this regard must be taken to save one whole year of students. Choudhary Hamid said reconstructing or repairing these damaged buildings is a herculean task before the government and it might take years to rebuild the damaged infrastructure. In the given situation government cannot play with the career of students and they must be made to complete their courses and also take exams comfortably. |
