HC orders not to act upon selection committee recommendation
Controversy over GMC principal Dr Ghansham's appointment
10/4/2014 10:46:28 PM
Jammu, Oct 4 : In an application filed by Dr Anice Choudhary, then incharge principal of GMC, seeking direction to respondents for restraining them to act on the October 18, 2012, recommendation of Establishment-cum Selection Committee in favour of Dr Ghansham Dev, High Court judge Bansi Lal Bhat today issued notices to Chief Secreatry, GAD Commissioner and Secretary, H&ME.
The notices were accepted by deputy AG Neeru Goswami appearing for the respondents. She was directed to file objections within three weeks and in the meanwhile, the court directed that recommendation made by the Establishment Committee shall not be acted upon. The petitioner submitted that during the his tenure as incharge Principal, the Establishment Committee-cum-Selection Committee held on October, 2012 in which the name of his junior Dr Ghansham Dev was recommended for appointed as Principal GMC Jammu which was however not acted upon by the Govt as the petitioner had immediately challenged the said recommendation.
