VHP condemns JDA for disposing claims of citizens, terms it unfortunate | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 4 : Expressing serious concerns over the news item regarding administration disposing the claims of eight families in respect of land spread having Khasra No 746 Village Gole appeared in cartian news section, the Vishav Hindu Parishad (VHP) J&K chapter has condemned the step of JDA authorities and termed it not only unfortunate, baseless but also deprivation of fundamental rights of the citizens whose houses and shops have been demolished by the JDA without authority of law. Addressing a press conference here today in Jammu, State VHP President Leela Karan Sharma expressed great concern over the news item appeared in certain media section mentioning 'Jammu Development Authority (JDA) quoting DC Jammu's order dtd 02-09-2014 in regard to disposing the claims of 08 families in respect of Khasra No 746 Village Gole. "The statement of JDA with special reference to these 8 families of Gole area is not only unfortunate, baseless and non application of sane mind but also deprivation of fundamental rights of the Indian citizens whose constructed houses and shops have been demolished by the JDA without authority of law. He said all such persons who got affected by this demolition are needed to be compensated for the loss cause to them. VHP stated that Rights of the claimants have been decided by the Deputy Commissioner Jammu after perusal of the authentic old Revenue records since 1947 & mutation No.1868 attested by the Revenue Authority in pursuance of Cabinet order No. 254/C for 32 Kanals of land under Khasra No 746 conferred upon Kishori Lal, Om Prakash Sons of Anant Ram in equal shares as Displace Persons of 1947 & also on the basis of demarcation reports conducted by the Revenue officer in 2009, 2010 & 2014 and categorically held that plot of these eight families were legally purchased & have constructed houses & shops situated on the boundary line of the village Gole. "The ownership Rights of the claimants have been devolved through legal ways i.e., sale deeds & subsequent mutations prior to eviction drive. They were the owners in possession of their respective land & over which they have raised concrete houses & shops, he added. Further he added that Director Land Record too has admitted in his report to Divisional Commissioner dtd 20/06/2014 that JDA was transferred only 784 Kanals and 17 Marla land but at present JDA land possession exceeds to the tune of 298 Kanal and 3 Marla as the plots of the claimant too have been marked on the map. "Allotment has also been made in favour of Kishori Lal & Om Prakash in 1970 as shown in cancelation register & mutations No. 1868 tested in 1992, he added. The JDA instead of coming with valid documents or court orders is harassing & interfering in the work of rightful claimants & putting undue pressure of police authorities, he alleged and said, "these actions are purely based on communal considerations which cannot be tolerated.' Warning JDA authorities not to interfere into the construction work of rightful claimants at Gole, the VHP leaders appealed to the higher authority to issue instructions to the police authorities not to interfere in the possession otherwise VHP will start agitation.
