Prof Bhim accuses State Govt for discrimination with Jammu

Jammu, Oct 4: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) supremo Prof. Bhim Singh accompanied by Panthers Party team reached Laam in Nowshera Tehsil (Bordering LOC) and condoled the death of 52 passengers on September, 4. He also accused the state government for discriminating with Jammu region.Several families who lost their family members gathered at the local Gurudwara in Raipur-Patta and they blamed the GREF for not covering a dump (Khada) on the stone bridge (about 50 meter long) which was one of the main causes of the accident. The local people also blamed the driver for the tragedy. They presented several documents to Prof Bhim Singh in support of their charges against the government. The local people also informed that not is single Minister bothered to reach their. They said that each victim of family was paid only one and half lacs each. They expressed strong resentment that they have not been paid any compensation from the government of India and the insurance company. Three of the victims were serving Army personnel. Prof. Bhim Singh who also visited the site of the accident expresses shock on the attitude of the government who could not fix railing on the site of the bridge which could have saved 52 lives. The local people demanded that ditching machine should have been brought to trace out dead bodied from the debris. They also demanded divers to search the bodies in the depth of the river. Prof. Bhim sigh assured the local residents that justice shall be done to them. He also assured that entire tragedy, circumstances and the present situation shall be brought to the notice of the Supreme Court next week. Earlier, Prof. Bhim Singh held emergency meeting of the district office bearers and activists of the Rajouri and constituted Relief and rehabilitation committee of Rajouri District with Ghulam Mustfa Wani as its Convenor.
Prof. Bhim Singh told media persons in Rajouri this morning that farmers are the worst sufferers during the flood and rain and they need first attention. He urged the Governor N.N. Vohra to invoke Sec. 92 of the J&K constitution, impose Governor rule and constitute a working committee of all the political representatives to save lacs of people from the jaws of death.
