| Locals demand 'creation of newly announced tehsil Hqrs in W-2' | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Nov 5: Locals from W- 2 and other areas held a protest on Tuesday evening and also blocked Rajouri-Reasi road at Khawas demanding creation of newly announced tehsil head quarter in ward No-2 of Rajouri. Amid slogans against State government and district administration, the protesters highlighted their problems and demanded creation of newly announced tehsil head quarter in ward No-2, which according to them is situated in the center of Khawas tehsil and everybody can approach it easily. Former sarpanch Gian Chand and others said that before the announcement of creation of the new tehsil the inhabitants of ward No 1 has donated free land to the authorities for the creation of the tehsil office and was agreed by the concerned officers. They also alleged that during this period the matter was also taken up in the court but some vested interests for their benefits and reportedly by producing fake documents (carrying the signatures of about 10 sarpanches) approached the court and insisted to create tehsil office in ward No 1. Protesters also alleged that these influential people have also lodged complaint against the aggrieved locals. |
