DIG's love for golf leaves commuters harassed with traffic jamming | | | Sumit Sharma Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 5: 'Might is Right'- the adage, aptly fits the "people friendly" police of Jammu and Kashmir as one of its officers for the sake of playing golf got the naka party shift from Sidhra to Bantalab to keep the truckers stranded in a queue on a one tube , causing traffic jam near Toll Plaza on National Highway. Highly placed sources informed that commuters now a days have been facing traffic chaos on National Highway at Bantlab as the NH is flooded with the trucks on way to Srinagar, thus putting them to hardships. The most sufferers are those who are office goers and travel daily from Jammu to Katra, Udhampur, Reasi and adjoining areas. The act of a senior police officer also put them in tight corner as neither they can stay at their respective offices nor they reach on time owing to jamming, created just to facilitate the senior police officer of the rank of DIG. The traffic cops posted at the site are the worst sufferers as they faced people's wrath for their no fault. Earlier, the traffic naka was laid at Sidhra where the trucks from Jammu to Srinagar were put to halt. While one tube was engaged by the trucks ,the second one was used for vehicular movement. The scene was changed and naka party was thrown to Bantalab when a DIG felt embarrassment going through second single tube towards his destination, i.e Golf Course at Sidhra early in the morning. Now, the DIG goes freely to Golf Course, but the commuters are left with no other options but to bear the brunt of traffic jamming. |
