Fast Track Recruitment Policy proves a handsome revenue generator | Over Rs 20 cr collected as application fee | | Mudasir Tariq
Early Times Report srinagar, Nov 5: State exchequer has been richer by over Rs 20 cr. as unemployed youth have contributed this amount as application fee against various vacant posts advertised by Omar Government under its fast track recruitment policy. Even as Omar claimed that as many as 80,000 educated youth will be provided Government jobs by fast track recruitment through Service Selection Board, the ground reality depicts quite a different tale. Lakhs of unemployed youth submitted applications during all these years, which contributed revenue to the tune of over Rs 20 crores. According to the reports more than 10 lakh applications have been received for just 11830 posts in last five years and the amount of money generated in the form of fee from these applications is more than Rs 20 crore. Reports reveal that a total number of 102574 applications were received by the Government from 2010 to 2014. In 2010, a total of 197542 OMR forms were received while as 162385 forms were received in 2011. Reports also maintained that 43275 OMR forms were received in 2012, and in 2013 there were 613278 forms submitted. During the ongoing year 8794 forms have been submitted till date. While going through the present situation in different state Departments, reports suggest that currently there are more than 37000 non-gazetted posts lying vacant in direct category and 5778 gazetted posts for direct recruitment to be filled up. The Government has also more than 13000 posts of Class-IV employees vacant in various departments. In a promotional quota, the Government has reported as many as 16000 vacancies in non-gazetted cadre and 1379 in gazetted cadre apart from 1379 Class IV posts. Reports further reveal that the Higher Education and School Education Departments have 2109 and 1515 vacancies in gazetted cadre respectively. The School Education Department in non gazetted cadre has 12372 vacant posts. The Home Department has 6678 posts vacant, Finance Department has 2042 and Forest department has 1848 posts vacant. The total number of gazetted and non- gazetted vacant posts in Education department is 22894 followed by Home department as 9019. |
