Nine gamblers held with stake money of Rs 8240 | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 5: Continuing its drive against anti social elements indulged in gambling, the Police today arrested nine gamblers from different place falling under jurisdiction of Gangyal Police Station and recovered Rs 8240/- as stake money from their possession. "On specific information, SHO Police Station Gangyal alongwith police party raided at different places and arrested nine gamblers, police spokesperson said. "Six gamblers arrested from Industrial area Gangyal have been identified namely as Kamlu Prasad s/o Raghubir Prasad of U.P presently Industrial Area Gangyal, Santosh Kumar s/o Suresh Sahu, Sonu s/o Ram Nath, Fakkar Sahu s/o Mahadev Sahu, Shambu s/o Shobi Sahu and Laxman Kumar s/o Jai Narayan (all from Bihar) presently at Industrial area Gangyal, police spokesperson said. Police also held three gamblers from Greater Kaliash area who have been identified as Sonu Singh s/o Moti Lal, Mohd Azad s/o Mushtaq and Mohd Nazim s/o Akali all residents of Bihar presently at Uttam Nagar Jammu. Police said all accused were arrested on the spot and were booked under 13 Gambling Act. Police also have recovered playing cards and cash amounting to Rs 8240 as stake money from their possession in two incidents. All the accused persons were produced in the court of law for further action. |
