MVD organizes Road Safety Awareness Camp | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 5 : The Motor Vehicle Department, Jammu in collaboration with Govt. Degree College, Jammu City (Paloura) today organized a Road Safety Awareness Camp in the College premises. The awareness camp is a part of ongoing drive by the department to sensitize the school and college students about the importance of observance of the Road Safety Rules. The students were shown films and power point presentation on Road Safety especially on the need to observe Traffic Rules so as to avoid Traffic accidents. Special emphasis was laid on use of mobile phones for texting and listening to music while walking on roads, use of helmets and seat belts, driving without licence. Besides, hand books on Road Safety were distributed among the students. The students were also advised not to drive without driving licences and Learner Licence forms were distributed and the procedure was also explained to them. The Principal of the College Prof. Savatri Sharma, Prof. Jugal Kishore Sharma Coordinator for the programme, RTO Jammu Sh. Arvind Kotwal, ARTO Jammu, Kuldeep Singh, ARTO Board of Inspection S. Swaran Singh, Motor Vehicle Inspector, Surinder Kumar, MVI Avnish Sharma MVI Shammi Kumar and staff of the school were also present on the occasion. The RTO Jammu emphasized on the need for observance of the Road Safety Rules and called upon the students to further disseminate the message of Road Safety among the peer group and family members. |
