19 file nomination papers from Kishtwar, Inderwal constituencies on last day | Massive show of political strength by NC, PDP, BJP | |  Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Nov 5: On the last day of filling of nomination papers for first phase of Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, 19 candidates filed their nomination papers from 51-Kishtwar and 52-Inderwal constituencies of the Kishtwar District. As per the details available with "Early times", 10 candidates filed their nomination papers from 52-Inderwal constituency today taking strength to 13 as three candidates including Congress leader Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, Shanawaz Ahmed Ahanger (JKPP Independent) and Jyoti Prakash of BSP filed their nomination papers on 3rd of this month. Among the 10 candidates who filed their nomination papers from 52-Inderwal constituency include Farooq Ahmed Keen (Independent), Lakhmi Chand Sharma (Independent), Jabar Singh Parihar (Independent), Tanveer Hussain Babzada (RKSP), Imtiyaz Ahmed (JKNPP), Abdul Majid Ganie (Independent), Salam Din (NC), Ashiq Hussain (KDF Independent), Abdul Majid Butt (PDP) and Tariq Hussain Keen (BJP). From 51-Kishtwar constituency, 9 candidates filed their nomination papers from 51-Kishtwar taking strength to 11 as two candidates Nek Ram Manhas of Congress and Des Raj Baghat of BSP has already filed their nomination papers on 3rd of this month. The nine candidates who filled their nomination papers from 51-Kishtwar today include Ajaiz Hussain Naik (NCP), Jaswant Singh (Independent), Ishtaq Ahmed Waza (covering candidate PDP), Gulzar Ahmed (Independent), Sunil Kumar Sharma (BJP), Firdous Ahmed Tak (PDP), Mohammad Amin Butt (JDS), Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo (NC) and Farooq Ahmed Ahanger (JK Peoples Party). One candidate Khalid Hussain Ganie of Awami Itehad Front could not file his nomination papers due to non fulfillment of formalities required for filling of nomination papers. BJP candidates Sunil Kumar Sharma and Tariq Hussain Keen was accompanied by MoS in PMO Dr. Jatindra Singh, MP and State President Jughal Kishore Sharma, MP and in charge J & K Affairs J P Nanda, BJP Spokesperson Advocate Sunil Sethi, Ex State President Shamsher Singh Manhas, senior party leader and Retired IGP Farooq Khan at the time of filling of nomination papers. PDP candidate Firdous Ahmed Tak and Abdul Majid Butt was accompanied by MLC Syed Asgar Ali and Former MoS Health Peer Mohammad Hussain, while Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo was accompanied by Ex MLC Brig Mohan Sharma as CM Omar Abdullah fails to reach Kishtwar due to illness of his father Dr. Farooq Abdullah. The scrutiny of the nomination papers will be held on 7th of November 2014, while polling will be held on 25th of November 2014. Meanwhile all the three major parties BJP, PDP, NC held massive rallies at Kishtwar on the eve of filling of their nomination papers to show the strength of public support and the same was attended by thousands of party supporters. As per the strength, BJP combined rally outclass the NC Kishtwar rally and PDP combined rally in number. |
