'Young Tarang-II' organized at Parade College | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 29: 'Young Tarang-II' was organised by Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Ministry of External Affairs Government of India under its Horizon series at the Auditorium of Government College for Women, Parade Jammu. Speaking on the occasion, Regional Director of ICCR Jammu Balwant Thakur briefed about the objectives of ICCR and multifaceted activities spread across the world. "Giving details about the programme 'Young Tarang' on a popular demand IInd series of the event is being held to accommodate best of the talents in performing arts," he informed and appreciating the new generation of artists.Balwant Thakur said that they had immense possibilities to establish themselves as ultimate professionals of the field and in the present times there are plenty of opportunities as well but they as required to be more focussed and devoted to scale new heights.
On the occasion, he expressed his highest gratitude to Prof. Hemla Aggarwal Principal Govt. College for Women, Parade Jammu for collaborating and supporting the cause of ICCR Jammu in promoting the brilliance in performing arts. Today's programme was a mix of diverse performance and opened with a solo Dogri dance presented by Sonali Verma. The highlight of the event was a play presentation 'Andhe Kaane' written by Dr. Atamjeet and directed by Neeraj Kant. The artists who performed in the play included Radhika Sharma as Mhena, Rupashi Wazir as Sardar, Suneedhi Sharma as Narena, Rashmi Jasrotia as Dharma, Sheetal Sharma as Karma, Kajal Thakur as Khoji and Sneha Kaul as Surena. The music of the play was rendered by Sabba Khan. This followed a Dogri group Dance which
mesmerized everyone in the audience. The programme reached to an ultimate climax when Sonali Dogra with her heart rendering singing made everyone to sing and dance. Sonali Dogra is credited for having the credit of being the finalist of famous programme 'Voice of India'. Her superb performance received standing ovation. The artists who participated in the programme included Radhika Sharma, Rupashi Wazir, Suneedhi Sharma, Rashmi Jasrotia, Sheetal Sharma, Kajal Thakur, Sabba Khan, Sneha Kaul, Sonakshi Bali, Ayushi Parihar, Meenakshi Bhagat, Vandhana Subh, Vanya Bagga, Rashika Suri, Shikha Zutshi, Preeti Sharma, Sonali Pandita, Saloni Verma, Sarabjeet Kour and Sonali Dogra. Prominent among those who attended the function included Amrit Kaur, Anupama Sharma, Neera Dalla and Nidhi Kotwal. |
