| Annual sports week concludes | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 29: On the final day of the ongoing Annual sports week and activities week in Government Polytechnic, Bikram Chowk Jammu which was inaugurated by Navin Aggarwal (IPS), Director General, Youth Services & Sports Department, J&K, in Cricket final, Automobile Engineering department defeated Computer Engineering department by 80 runs.
According to press release, batting first Automobile Engineering department scrored 142/9 in 15 overs, in reply Computer Engg. department was bundled out for 73 runs. The top scorer from Automobile Engg. department was Ashfaq who scored 31 runs.
In Volleyball final, Architecture Engg. department defeated Mechanical Engineering department in nail-bitting final match by 25-19, 25-22 and 16-14.
In Table tennis final, Asad Sharma from Electrical Engg. Department defeated Vansh Mahajan from Mechanical Engg. department by 2-0 sets.
In Badminton final, Mohit Sharma of Electrical Engg. department defeated Vishal verma from Civil Engg. department by 21-12 and 21-19.
In Carrom final, Kartik and Akash of Automobile Engg lost to Tariq and Mukesh of Civil Engg. department by 3-0.
The various prizes and trophies will be awarded to the players on the Annual Day of the college scheduled on 2nd December 2014. The sports week was organized in the college under the patronage of Er. Arun Bangotra Principal of the college, Er. Inderjeet Singh (Chairman of Sports week) and Er. K.S Bhatia (Vice-chairman) and Rakesh Kakkar (Sports secretary). |
