JAMMU, Nov 29: Army Public School (APS) BD Bari-A won the 2nd Open Women's Volleyball Tournament which was organised by Trikuta Volleyball Club in collaboration with JK Public School, Kunwani, here today. In the final, APS BD Bari defeated host Trikuta Club in straight sets of 25-19, 25-23. Nitishi Saini, Neha Bhagat and Kanika played fine game from the winning side of APS BD Bari while Ravinder Kour and Shiwali defended well. Earlier, in the semifinals, Trikuta Club beat APS BD Bari-B 2-1 (22-25, 25-10, 15-03) and APS BD Bari-A trounced Rajput Club Jakh 25-19, 25-21. Niteshi Sharma declared best player while youngest participant title went to Akansha Sharma of Government High School Chowadi. The matches were officiated by the technical penal including Manik Nargotra, Harish Sharma, Wasim Malik, Ajay Kumar and Parminder Singh under the supervision of Amarjeet Singh and Mulkh Raj Sharma. In the final and concluding function, president of J&K Volleyball Association, Raj Daluja was chief guest, who gave away winners and runners-up trophies as also other individual prizes. General secretary of the Association, Kuldeep Magotra was guest of honour. Prominent among others present were Sidharth Daluja, Ramesh Sharma, Dr Brij Biloria, Hardeep Singh, Nirmal Singh, Shakti Sharma, Rimpy Sharma, Seema Sharma, Suman Sambyal and Madhuri Jamwal. |
