Jammu, Nov 29 : The PDP contesting candidate from Bhaderwah constituency Sheikh Mehboob Iqbal today lambasted the Congress for allegedly using the District Police Doda to harass its workers from the day of commencing of election campaign till the day of polling. "The District Police Doda has become a puppet in the hands of the Congress in Doda district. It is acting like a dictator and a mute spectator. The police are harassing our party workers by registering false cases against them and claim that we are doing our job, Sheikh Mehboob Iqbal alleged in a jam packed press conference held here at Bhaderwah. "Two days before polling some Congress leaders and workers attacked PDP district President Pritam Singh Kotwal and other two leaders at Bhalessa area when they were attending a meeting of party workers in a house and Congress people damage the house and vehicle of the PDP leaders and instead of registration of FIR against culprits Police remained mute spectator and arrested PDP leaders for a night at Gundoh ," alleged Sheikh Mehboob Iqbal. "During the whole process of election out of frustration to loose the Bhaderwah seat first time from the hands of PDP ,Congress workers and leaders attacked PDP workers and leaders but Doda police remained mute and not taken any action and if you want to implement the law, then have the same yardstick for everyone," PDP senior leader said |
