Jammu, Nov 29: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Gandhi Nagar Assembly constituency Sardar Amrik Reen today held series of public meeting in Nanak Nagar area and launches extensive door-to-door campaigning to appeal masses for casting their vote in favour of PDP in elections. The party also opened its election office at Nanak Nagar under the guidance of Surjeet Kaur, Mahila Wing General Secretary. While appealing masses during the public meetings held by Reen, he said that the graph of development has seen many ebb under the leadership of former and sitting MLAs in the Gandhi Nagar constituency whether it was National Conference or Congress government in power. Reen further said that development in the constituency has been confined up to the re-metaling of the roads and re-tiling of the streets. He added that the power scenario has gone from bad to worse under the incumbent MLA but the man in power continued to benefit his close aid and workers for some political benefits. He appealed the voters to vote in numbers in favour of PDP in the Legislative Assembly elections and assured that if he was voted to power, all the burning issues of the constituency would be highlighted for a genuine and time bound solution and constituency will be developed on the tone of modern cities of the state. Meanwhile numbers of prominent political activists joined PDP under the stewardship of S Amrik Singh Reen who welcomed the new entrants into the party fold and urged upon them to spread the message of party leadership among the masses across the nook and corner of Jammu region. |
