Deputy Commissioner Kathua. Arvind Kumar, is a practicing advocate said that election commission of India has announced election in Kathua J&K and the voting is scheduled to be held on December 20. He alleged that Electoral officers of District Kathua are providing private accommodation to Election observers and asserted that since the Observers were government employees appointed by Election Commission of India to monitor the smooth conduct of election in Kathua District, are being deliberately kept in Chenab Textile Mills (CTM) Guest House, Kathua, which is a licensed firm of Birla Group, a private limited company. Kumar doubted on the workings of DEO and REO and said that there were enough Govt. buildings like Guest House of PWD, PDD, Flood and Control and other Government departments, which were fit and well furnished. He contended that DEO and REO of breaching Government norms and code of conduct instead of making their arrangements in Government Guest houses. Kumar said that by making arrangements for observers in Guest House of CTM is a private company to provide undue benefit to some of the candidates by DEO and REO Kathua constituency clearly shows their malafide intent and panic in general public. |
