Former MP, his brother allegedly grab private land; Revenue | | | authorities stay inert Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 9: An alleged land grabbing case surfaced in district Kathua where former MP Lal Singh and his brother grabbed private land measuring 21 kanal situated at Logate Morh. The matter has been brought in the notice of police and district administration but till date, the aggrieved is at receiving end. The aggrieved person namely Sharat Chander Nagra, addressing press conference in Jammu, said that being a refugee of 1947, government allotted a piece of land in the name of his mother namely Mela Devi measuring 47 kanals under khasra No 838/777,839/777,841/777, situated near National Highway at Logate Morh, but for the past more one year one Sohan Singh s/o Saran Singh and brother of ex MP Lal Singh encroached upon some portion of the land measuring 21 kanals and illegally usurped the possession of his residential house. The matter was reported to DC Kathua, who in return directed Naib Tehsildar and SSP Kathua to take necessary action under law but till date nothing has been done. Further, after the death of his mother, he had approached for mutation of the properties in his name during the year 2006 but unfortunately due to influence of ex MP Choudhary Lal Singh, the mutation was not done in his favour by Revenue authorities. |
