Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 9: Contrary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's repeated claims of promising a new era of development if the BJP comes to power in Jammu and Kashmir, the issues of `Bijli', `Sarak' and `Pani' are of insignificant concern for the party candidates contesting Assembly elections.
This was replied by the group of BJP activists, led by wife of the party candidate on one of the Jammu city Assembly constituencies, who were asked by the people of a locality to explain them the reason behind silence of the party leaders over these issues, which has had been confronting the Jammuites.
Instead of listening to the grievances of people, the wife of BJP candidate said that party of her husband has to accomplish big missions and tasks not the lanes and roads.
And as expected, infuriated over such a reply, people made the BJP activists to flee the locality.
The incident took place in a newly developed locality in outskirts of the Jammu city where the BJP activists and the party candidate's wife had gone for canvassing to seek vote and support for her husband on the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The trouble erupted when some females of the locality, assembled there, sought to know the reason behind absence as well as silence of the party candidate whenever they had to face the problems of irregular supply of water, electricity and poor condition of roads in the area.
While the other BJP activists were listening to the complaint of people, the wife of party candidate quipped that the Modi Sarkar and her husband had big missions to accomplish for the welfare of people. When people asked what other things BJP was doing for them if Bijli, Sarak Pani were not on the agenda, the candidate's wife replied back, "we have decreased the petrol prices and such big issues are our priorities not the lanes and drains."
On being asked whether she or her husband were the chairperson of the forum of oil producing countries, the candidate's wife and those accompanying her, had no answer and they preferred to leave the area before people force them to flee.
