NPSU demands removal of IRCS district secretary | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 9 : National Panther Student Union (NPSU) on Tuesday staged protest demonstration in the premises of University of Jammu against the non-utilization of funds by the Indian Red Cross Society. Addressing the gathering, state president, Thakur Virender Singh said that a nominal amount was curtailed from the admission fees of the students from all across the schools and colleges as a contributory fund in the Red Cross Society. "IRCS has not been utilizing the funds for the human welfare and sought a while paper from IRCS for the accountability and transparency of funds," he alleged. He also said that the society has also received funds for the flood affected people from the Central government but there was no sign visible in the ground as for as utilization of funds and rehabilitation of flood victims are concurred. He said that the society was run by the retired education officers and the apathetic attitude of these officials has ignored the entire district executive committee leading to complete chaos and confusion. While, Love Deep Singh Mankotia claimed that the Ambulances of the IRCS have been using as load carriers as well as personal work by the officials of the IRCS. He demanded the immediate removal of district Secretary of IRCS as he has been holding the chair unconstitutionally for the last ten years. |
