Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 9: BJP State Spokesperson & State Election Media Incharge Arun Kumar Gupta while reacting to the statement of Omar Abdullah that where were PDP and BJP at the time of flood in J&K, said that PDP was enjoying holidays with Omar Abdullah and BJP was in Kashmir to observe the grim situation on the very next day of flood.
He said that BJP's workers were there on ground in Kashmir helping the flood victims and taking them out of the disastrous situation adding that BJP workers were also helping in restoration and rehabilitation works with Army and other NGOs.He said that the entire country witnessed the fact that the Government Machinery was missing from the scene during the crucial first six days of the tragedy.
The Chief Minister who himself was visible only in the media but not on the ground and even has admitted publically that his government was dysfunctional for first 36 hours, BJP leader said and added, "By all standards it was a humble admission, but now, how can he blame BJP for not reaching to flood victims.
He also said, "PDP and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah were holidaying somewhere leaving behind the people of Kashmir in those horrible conditions."
He also alleged that Omar tried to save the life of VIPs and his close ones rather than working for the poor and innocent people of Kashmir.
He said that Home Minister Rajnath Singh visited Kashmir to access ground situation while Prime Minister Narendra Modi, immediately announced Rs 1000 crore for the relief and rehabilitation of the victims and also visited J&K.
"Besides this, centre also gave Rs 700 crores to the State Government but this money did not reach to the flood victims, he added
. "People are angry with the slow process of rehabilitation and they are not in a mood to forgive NC for ditching them at the time when they were needed the most," he said.
"Omar is well advised to look into the deficiency of the system rather than politicizing the issue, he concluded.
