| Warriors win Martyrs Memorial T-20 Cricket Tournament | | |  Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Dec 26: Youth Warriers Kishtwar today won the 6th Police Martyrs Memorial (T-20) Cricket Tournament by defeating Sarkoot XI by two wickets in the final.
The tournament was conducted at Chowgan Ground Kishtwar by District police Kishtwar under Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2014-15. The final match was played between Youth Sarkoot and Kishtwar Warriors. Youth Sarkoot after winning the toss elected to bat; could manage to score only 78 runs in 17 Overs. Sohail Sheikh scored 27 runs for Sarkoot Eleven and Burhan Qazi took 03 wickets for 16 runs for Kishtwar Warriors whereas Kishtwar Wariors chased the target by Lossing 08 wickets, thereby Kishtwar Warriors won the match by two wickets. Burhan Qazi of Kishtwar Warriors was declared Man of the Match whereas Henan Malik of Kishtwar Warriors was declared as Man of the Series.
Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Mohammad Javed Khan was the Chief Guest on the occasion and distributed prizes among the winners, runner ups and best performers of the tournament. The function was presided over by SP Kishtwar Yougal Manhas. The valedictory function of the tournament was attended by CO 08 RR Rakesh Kumar Mishra, CO 52 Bn CRPF Mukesh Tiyagi, ACR Kishtwar Sudarshan Kumar Salaria, Tehsildar Kishtwar Fulail Singh, ARTO Kishtwar Azahar Amin Zarger and other officers of civil administration and District Police Kishtwar. Deputy Commissioner and SP Kishtwar spoke on the occasion and deliberated upon utility of conduct of these programs by J&K Police under Civic Action Program. Large number of people witnessed the final event and appreciated the efforts of District Police Kishtwar in this regard. |
