Governor rule looks inevitable! | | | Sandeep Bhat Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 26: Despite 2014 assembly elections witnessing huge participation of people no political party got absolute majority in 87-member JK assembly and fell short of magic figure of 44 seats, if none of the parties reach on consensus over government formation in JK there is every possibility of Governor's rule being imposed in the state. The political parties got seats in one region and almost nil in other regions that way people of the entire state, Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh didn't give any political party an absolute majority to govern the state. The Ladakh region was mostly dominated by Congress party where it secured 3 out of 4 assembly seats and one seat went to independent backed by NC that means no political party other than Congress had presence in Ladakh region. In plain areas of Jammu region PDP didn't open its account and only managed to win Rajouri, Darhal and Poonch seats and no seat from Chenab valley and faced same situation in Ladakh region. Congress bagged three seats in Ladakh and no seat from Jammu plains which was a great setback to the party where it had strong base and no seat from Rajouri, Poonch region and only two to four seats from its strong hold Chenab valley. National Conference didn't open its account in Chenab valley where it was expected to do well and except Mendhar, no other seat from Poonch region, though it managed to get 2 seats in Jammu plains. As far as BJP is concerned, it showed good performance in both Jammu plains and Jammu hilly region which include Chenab Valley and Poonch area but had to draw a blank from Kashmir and Ladakh region. The Panthers Party was wiped out from the scene and secured zero. Political experts believe that no party has got the clear verdict to form the government on its own and no combination would be able to give a stable government in the state. The Governor N N Vohra has asked both PDP which secured 28 seats and BJP which bagged 25 seats to come forward for holding deliberations . Pertinently, none of the political parties have reached on the consensus over government formation due to fractured mandate and there is every possibility about re-election being held and Governor's rule being imposed in the state. |
