| Public opinion favors PDP-BJP coalition | | |

Jammu, Dec 26: The public opinion in both the two regions of the State favour a People's Democratic Party (PDP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for a stable and strong government that can deliver and last for full six years.
The people in both the two regions favour that the common mandate is with PDP in Kashmir Valley and BJP in Jammu region so it will be fittest in the interests of people of the two regions of the State if the PDP and BJP join hands to form the next Government by devising a common minimum programme (CMP) and keeping a moratorium on all the contentious issues.
People as well as political analysts also feel that reaching a workable formula for running the Government by two major parties BJP and PDP will be best in the interests of the people of the State and instead of losing time in raising controversial issues the two parties should concentrate on good governance, development, eradication of corruption, unemployment by setting up employment generation projects and new non polluting industrial units.
Political analysts say that with the rejection of both Congress and NC who were in coalition in the State, any truck with either of the two by BJP or PDP will not be in the larger interests of the people of the State and it will further lead to alienation. Rejection of peoples will be tantamount to public interests in the State, they added and strongly advocated for a workable arrangement for government formation by the PDP and BJP.
Suggesting both the parties to give their rigid stand, the political analysts urge them to take the ground realities into consideration and give a serious thought how the people of the State could be brought out of the present turmoil which has damaged its economy over last 25 years.
Maintaining that PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed being an experienced politician who has served as Union Home Minister as well as Union Tourism Minister will never favour any such arrangement which will neither be workable nor in the larger interests of the people of the State but he will go by his conscience by taking a wise decision. Both the parties know that J&K being a sensitive State is confronted with varies problems and the 25 year long cross border terrorism has given a serious jolt to State's economy as well as created a wedge among the different sections of the society. To tide over all this and take the State back on path of progress, both the parties have to discharge their responsibility seriously, say analysts.
Analysts say coming closer of both BJP and PDP for formation of Government will also end long alienation in the State and help in more coordination and cooperation between the people of different regions |
