| ADGP inaugurates Suqoon Centre in Jammu | | |  Early Times Report
Akhnoor, Dec 26: The first counseling centre in the Jammu Region under Suqoon Project at Calliope College of Education, Akhnoor, Jammu was today inaugurated by SM Sahai, Additional Director General of Police, J&K (Armed).
Suqoon is a flagship project under which mental health services, individual case work, group counseling and psycho-educational sessions are being conducted across the state.
Speaking on the occasion Sahai appreciated the endeavour of The Inner Call in the area of health care particularly mental health.
He said that mental health is the essential component of overall health of a person and that is the reason that mental health care activities are now in focus.
While commissioning the facility to the public, CEO, The Inner Call Affan Yesvi said that Inner Call endeavours to contribute towards establishing a society where individuals are not merely free from physical diseases but are also mentally capable to deal with the various challenges that life poses.
He described the counseling centre at Calliope College of Education as a new beginning for students, parents and staff members for availing counseling and guidance services whenever required. On the occasion, he appealed the masses not to hesitate in approaching the facility for professional help and fight the stigma associated with mental health problems.
