Jammu, Dec 26: Security forces today recovered cache of arms and ammunition from a hideout busted in mountainous Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir. "Acting on specific information, Sohanda based Rashtriya Rifles under the Dharmund based Delta Force today launched a joint search operation in Chilli Forest area of Doda district and busted a hideout," official spokesperson here said. He said during search, security forces recovered cache of arms including one Chinese Pistol, one Country made Pistol, two 12 bore Rifles, four magazines of AK-47, one Chinese Grenade, two Grenade (HE-36), four UBGL Grenades, 190 rounds of 7.62mm AK-47, 25 rounds 7.62 mm PIKA, one Russian Night Vision Device and other sustenance items like one stove, five plates, two bowl, one steel glass, two gunny bags and one blanket from a natural cave. "Army has been getting information of activities of unidentified persons in the area off and on therefore a close watch was being maintained in the area,"he added. The spokesperson said the recovered arms are likely to belong to one of the old tanzeems of the area which have been hidden for use at a later date. "The arms were hidden and concealed in a natural cave of 4 feet width and 10 feet depth in the remote and dense forest area Chilli," he added.This is the second consecutive recovery in last two days, he said. |
