| Natrang Sunday theatre presents 'Laakh Ki Naak' | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 4 : A new play by children ' Laakh Ki Naak' was presented by Natrang in its Sunday theatre series. According to press release, the play was written by Sarveshwar Dayal Saxena and directed by Neeraj Kant. The play was designed and developed by the children who participated in the eight days winter workshop conducted by Neeraj Kant and Aarushi Thakur. When all the children in Jammu were enjoying their winter break and warmed up with loads of homework and stress, the children of Natrang Winter Theatre Camp not only kept-up with their studies but also excelled in their creative abilities and polished their inherent talent. In many ways, our audacity to imagine helps push the boundaries of possibility and this approach was used for the kids. For instance, the Museum of Glass in Tacoma, Washington has a program called 'Kids Design Glass' where kids draw their own ideas for glass art. This experiment was applied in Natrang where the ideas of the children were encouraged and their inherent talents were enhanced. The play "Lakh Ki Naak" has a very large cast of courtiers, corrupt officials hand in glove with dishonest traders and manufacturers of swords. Natrang founder Padamshree Balwant Thakur dwelt in detail about his vision of theatre for Children. He appealed the parents to encourage their children to participate in theatre and creative arts if they really wish to see their future generations competing the tough global competition and the challenges this rapidly changing world is going to pose. The children who participated in the play included Gopi Sharma, Sanyam Gupta, Shreya Gupta, Riya Jandial, Agam Kaur, Chander Pratap Singh Bhau, Chirag Anand and Vidit Shirsh etc. |
