Early Times Report

JAMMU, Jan 4: At a time when PDP-BJP alliance on government formation is on cards in Jammu and Kashmir, the state unit of Congress party fears that consequences of PDP-BJP alliance in Ladakh and Jammu regions would be deadly for the party.
Sources revealed to Early Times that when PDP and BJP are about to announce their alliance on government formation in coming days, senior Congress leaders despite offering unconditional support to PDP from the day first feel that possible PDP-BJP alliance may wrap the future of state Congress in many parts across the state particularly in Jammu and Ladakh Divisions where the party won good number of seats.
"Any news regarding PDP-BJP alliance only adds worries for senior leaders of Kashmir, Jammu and Ladakh divisions who are in touch with each other these days and discuss future of Congress incase PDP and BJP forged an alliance. People from Delhi associated with state politics too are worried and try their best to enter in alliance with PDP," sources said
Sources said that in Jammu region where BJP washed away traditional Congress bastions, senior leadership fears that next possible PDP-BJP government if succeeded to carry out some development works in these constituencies can create problems for Jammu unit of Congress to regain faith of people and succeed from such constituencies again for many years to come.
In Ladakh division where Congress this time won three out of four seats may be tough place for Congress leaders to regain faith of people in 2020 as people of Ladakh love to vote for those people only who work for them. Besides in parts of Kashmir where PDP candidates this time already defeated senior congress leaders in South and North Kashmir may be tough turfs for Congress leaders to contest against PDP candidates.
Pertinently as chaos continues over government formation nearly after two weeks results were announced, according to sources senior leaders of PDP have finally started secret talks with BJP in Delhi on a serious note following the denial of Omar Abdullah to forge an alliance with BJP.
Omar Abdullah in his recent tweets not only clarified BJP claims to have entered in talks with NC but also made way for PDP-BJP alliance by refusing to forge an alliance with BJP.
In his recent tweets Omar wrote, "And while we are on the subject, let me reiterate that neither I nor my father are discussing any sort of alliance with the BJP."
"BJP claims to be talking to JKNC, it clearly means it is not the PDP that is reluctant to forge a BJP-PDP alliance regardless of PDP claims. JKNC does not have mandate for government formation and we are not in the business of haggling, we have made one serious offer, it is on the table," wrote Omar.
