Vigilance tightens noose around Tara Chand, Kewal; PC hard-discs seized

Jammu, Jan 4: In the Class-IV recruitment scam in School Education Department, the State vigilance Organization has started tightening noose around former Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand and his then Deputy PRO Kewal Sharma, who are believed to be main culprits in the case The Vigilance sleuths are learnt to have seized hard-discs of the Personal Computer and laptop of Kewal Sharma from his residence as well as some other PCs installed at Tara Chand's official residence for collecting more information and evidences against the duo in recruitment scam. Some other evidences, including a pen drive were also seized from the residence of Kewal Sharma.
According to official sources, the seized hard discs are being examined by the Information Technology experts in the Vigilance Organization, which has already registered an FIR against the Chief Education Officer Jammu Tarsem Lal and three others in the scam.
The Early Times had last month reported that the Vigilance Organization was going to implicate Tara Chand and Kewal Sharma in the recruitment scam after the Assembly election results as one of the accused had agreed to become approver in the case.
The Vigilance Organization started tightening noose around then Deputy CM and his Deputy PRO in the case after role of the duo in influencing the selection of candidates for Class-IV posts surfaced during preliminary investigations and statements of the accused. Main accused in the case and others, against whom FIR has been registered, have confessed that selection of the candidates was manipulated on the alleged directions of Deputy CM and his Dy PRO. The Vigilance Organization has also seized some DO letters, written by the Dy PRO on letter pad of Dy CM, recommending consideration of those, who had not even applied for the post.
