| CPPWU demands probe into mis- appropriation of funds HE project | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 8: Chinar Power Projects Workers Union (CPPWU) on Thursday demanded an immediate probe into the mis-appropriation of funds meant for Pakal Dul H.E project.
According to press release, union chairman Joginder Bhandari expressed concern over the mis-appropration of funds meant for Pakal Dul HE project. He said crores of rupees have been spent over the said project by the NHPC and CVPPL but regretted that no work on ground level has been taken by CVPPL which needs to be probed by CBI. He said that the location of the site of Pakal Dul HE project is in district Kishtwar and their offices are located at Jammu and Srinagar where rent and TA worth crores of rupees have been shown and drawan by the officers of Chenab Valley Power Projects Limited. "Not only the funds worth crores of rupees have been drawan on account of purchase and maintance by the CVPPL and the officers of CVPPL are enjoying laxuries life which also needs to be enquired," he added. He alleged that large number of back door appointments have been made in this project from outside the state at the cost of deserving unemployed youths of the district. Whose lands have been occupied by CVPPL for the execution of HE project have not been released the payment of compensation since a long period has been elapsed. |
