Stalemate continues on Govt formation | Guv rule likely to be last option | |
Sandeep Bhat Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 8: The stalemate continues in the formation of next government in the state as no concensus has so far reached between BJP and PDP, according to sources. There are many hurdles in talks between the two parties as none of them wants to compromise on some important issue like AFSPA, talks with separatists andArticle 370. If sources are to be believed, the talks between these two parties have stopped and both are talking among themselves for the formation of government in the state. There are some leaders in BJP who want to have alliance with NC and are totally against PDP and don't want to form government with them. Some BJP leaders are totally against NC and want to go ahead with PDP to form the next government in the state which, according to them, represents the aspirations of both the regions. There is a different opinion among BJP leaders particularly from state on the alliance partner, according to credible sources. Talking to Early Times, Jitendra Singh, MoS PMO, said that on Jan 19 everything would be clear and at present, he can't say anything about talks, but in democracy, "both parties have right to talk among the leaders of their own party and I am no authority to say anything on this". He said border people who were affected by the Pak firing would be given 5 marlas of land which has been identified for 3,100 families. Many political pandits believe that Jammu and Kashmir is heading for governor rule as no party is in a position to form the government as of now. There are many people who either talk of grand alliance or PDP-BJP coalition government, but if sources are to be believed, due to stalemate, governor rule is likely to be imposed in the state after January 19. |
