NABARD sensitizes bankers on WSHGs, JLGs in Kupwara | | | Early Times Report
kupwara, Jan 8: National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) organized a one day sensitization programme on Women Self Help Groups and Joint Liability Groups for bankers. The workshop was attended by all Branch Managers of the district Kupwara belonging to J&K Bank, JK Grameen Bank, SBI, PNB, HDFC and Cooperative Bank. District Officers from Agriculture, KVK, Handicraft & Handloom Department were also present. The workshop was aimed at propagating the concept of SHGs and JLGs among bankers to help rural women, small and marginal farmers, landless laborers, oral lessees and other farmers in getting bank credit support without collateral securities for undertaking minor economic activities in agriculture and allied sectors. On the occasion, Deputy General Manager NABARD, Kashmir Region, Dinesh Kapila was special invitee who in his special address, pointed out the role of NABARD as an apex development institution of Govt of India. Rouf Zargar, DDM, NABARD, Kupwara explained to Branch Managers, the process of formation of SHGs and JLGs in detail with a power-point presentation. Video documentaries of SHGs and JLGs were also played and success stories from model states were shared. |
