J&K Bank convenes Kupwara DLRC, conducts awareness camps in Budgam | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Jan 8: J&K Bank convened a District Level Review Committee meeting of Kupwara to review achievements under Annual District Credit Plan 2014-15, which was chaired by Additional DDC Kupwara Farooq Ahmad Rather. Chief Planning Officer Kupwara Abdul Ahad Shah, Cluster Head J&K Bank Mohd Shafi Bhat, LDO RBI Anil Kumar Reshi and DDM NABARD Rouf Ahmad Zargar were also present in the meeting besides district coordinators of financial institutions and representatives of various government departments/ sponsoring agencies. Lead District Manager Kupwara apprised the house about the achievements during September quarter. He said, "The banks have achieved 43.40% of the targets laid down under ACP 2014-15 at the end of the quarter under review. The financial institutions have provided credit of Rs. 123.67 Crores to 6429 income generating units under Priority sector and Rs. 111.25 Crores to 2622 beneficiaries under Non-Priority sector for development of the area and eradication of poverty and unemployment." He further stated that deposits of the district have increased YoY basis by 5.13% and advances have grown by 29.67% and stood at Rs 1307.43 crores and Rs 931.90 crores respectively. CD Ratio of the district at the end of the quarter stood at 71.28% compared to 57.79% last year, he added. Meanwhile, during last few weeks the bank conducted various financial literacy camps in district Budgam. Financial Literacy and Credit Couseling centre Budgam organized a mega awareness camp at Townhall in Khansahib, which was attended by participants from Arigam, Taqya Farooq shah, Raiyer, kalshipora and Yari khah. Speaking on the occasion, Facilitator FLCC A H Rafiqi informed the participants about the features of PMJDY scheme and role of the banks and business correspondents in implementation of the scheme at gross root level. Highlighting the benefits and advantages of the account opened under the scheme, he urged the audience to avail the facilities of insurance products, DBT scheme and Rupay Debit card with no extra charges. A similar camp was organized in village Mohani pora Pakherpora. The centre also conducted literacy programmes for the trainees of Sozni Works and Crewel Embroidery Works at the bank's RSETI in Budgam. |
