JKPPM hails newly formed 'Pahari Revolutionary Movement'

RAJOURI, Jan 8: J&K Pahari People Movement (JKPPM), a NGO struggling for the welfare of Pahari speaking community, have congratulated the office bearers of newly constituted organization ' Pahari Revolutionary Movement (PRM)' constituted by the students of Pahari speaking Community.
JKPPM is struggling for the welfare of the community members including Schedule Tribe (ST) status for the community for the last more than 25 years.
JKPPM leaders including Shahbaz Khan, Chief Executive; MA Sagar, provincial president; Vijay Kochar , provincial general secretary; advocate Rajinder Mehata, spokesman and others have appealed to the members of JURPM to spearhead the movement launched by the JKPPM to get ST status for the community . JKPPM leaders have also warned the government that the community members including unemployed youth and students of the community will launch a large scale agitation on the pattern of Rajasthan Gurjars to get ST status for the community.
"The successive Central as well as State governments have deceived the community members for the last many years by issuing hollow promises to give ST status to Paharis.
Meantime M A Sagar, and Vijay Kochar have appealed to the people of Pahari Community to be united to launch a united struggle under an umbrella organization Jammu & Kashmir Pahari Cultural and Welfare Forum (JKPCWF). Meantime JU-PRM held its meeting at the University Campus in which Advocate Mazhar Ali Khan, Advocate Taraiz Khan, Advocate Sohail Malik were elected president, vice-president and general secretary of the organization unanimously. Other executives nominated included
Dr Obaid-ur-Rehaman and advocate Dheeraj Choudhry as spokespersons and advocates Mansoor Mushtaq ,Amjad KhanAmir Malik , Engineer Imran Mirza as secretaries.
