Jammu, Feb 8: Jammu University Research Scholar Executive Association (JURSEA) today staged a protest demonstration outside Rajbhawan, Jammu. Speaking on the occasion, president JURSEA, Sukhdev Singh alleged that Prof. R D Sharma, acting Vice Chancellor, JU was trying to defer justice with the harassment of female scholar of JU as he was trying to save the culprits of that particular case. "The Scholars are just demanding resolution of their long pending demands and highlighting the misdeeds committed by the JU administration, But the acting VC instead of rectifying own faults was using pressure tactics against the Scholars and using all methods to suppress our voice", he said. "Several issues like renovation of dilapidated hostel complex, hygienic atmosphere in the hostels, better facilities in Central Library, health Centre and Wi-Fi connectivity for Research Scholars are still not addressed by JU administration," he rued. Every decision taken by the acting VC has remained against the scholars and against the dignity of the heritage varsity, hence it is appealed to the Governor NN Vohra, who happens to be the Chancellor, JU that to restore the dignity of the VC Chamber kindly remove Prof. R D Sharma from the post of VC and install an efficient person who thinks for the welfare of scholars besides having caliber to maintain the dignity of the VC Chamber, he added.
