| NC's Mulla enjoys official patronage in Governor's rule | | PDD accords double phased power line, SMC gives streets lights for lawn | | ET Report
Srinagar, Feb 8: One of the famous Mulla of Kashmir Molvi Akhzar Hussain is enjoying the government patronage with the PDD official showering all favours to him, leaving other local residents in his native area in lurch.
Reports have informed that a cleric and Imam at Sonawar shrine Molvi Akhza rHussain who is considered much close to National Conference and Congress is enjoying all sops and doles in his locality in Srinagar's UmerAbad Zainakot HMT.
The locals in the area have told Early Times that the PDD officials while throwing rules to wind have provided this Mulla a double phased electricity line while the entire area reels under darkness and paucity of the power voltage.
Also the government has accorded him the four street lights all together that the Mulla has kept in his own lawn- enlightening the exteriors of his two storey house.
UmerAbad locals said that they have several times informed the PDD officials aboutMolviAkhzarHussain misusing electricity but their repeated pleas, they said, have fallen flat on deaf ears.
They added that the Mulla is enjoying all the political and official patronage and everyday throws rules to wind and undermines the hardships faced by other people of his locality. "The street lights are meant for streets but the SMC accords it to him. It is the clear violation of norms. The government must act. The Mulla has kept the street lights for his own house and lawn while as the entire area is reeling under darkness amid the chilling winter months," said one of the locals.
He added that the entire area is facing acute power crisis and low voltage issues but the PDD seems to be hand in glove with MolviAkhzarHussain as it has approved a double phased power supplies in to his house. "How could this happen. Isn't the government looking a the crisis. Why the state authorities fail to take any action. We demand immediate punishment to the PDD officials who have given the Mulla this double phased electricity line," says another local resident.
MolviAkhzarHussain who delivers long Friday sermons at Sonawar Shrine of Srinagar an employee of Waqf board with his office instead of taking any action against him have given him a driver who drives this government sponsored Mulla from one place to another.
Famously known for his allegiance to national conference, MolviAkhzarHussain is also the chairman of one of the religious organisations in Kashmir called Anjuman-e-Ulma-e-Ahnaf.
Locals in the area accuse SMC and PDD for providing undue favours to him, appealed the government to take action over the issue at an earliest. |
