Mumbai, Feb 8: Amit Sharma, Special Secretary to Government, Animal/Sheep Husbandry Department brought laurels to state when he presented his views on Financial Inclusion and Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) having a great scope in Jammu & Kashmir. The same perspectives presented about J&K by Amit Sharma were highly applauded and appreciated by august gathering in BFSI Leadership & Awards Summit 2015 held at Mumbai comprising of top CEOs & MDs of Banks, Policy Makers, Statesmen, PSU Heads, etc. In his keynote address as one of the key speakers of the Summit, Amit Sharma talked at length about how Financial Inclusion can act as a game changer in involvement of masses in overall economic development. He appreciated the role of J&K Bank in fulfilling the targets of opening lakhs of account under PradhanMantri Jan DhanYojna (PMJDY) and generating lot of funds through it inspite of the flood fury and devastation which J&K went through in September last year. Amit called upon all the bankers to visit J&K and cover all areas of state by opening-up branches, initiating Business Correspondents (BC) models, using Micro-ATMS for far-flung and inaccessible areas of state which is the need of the hour. J&K Bank was represented in the Summit by S.S Sehgal, Zonal Head of Maharashtra who accompanied Amit Sharma throughout the Summit. Amit was also presented a memento in the BFSI Summit for sharing his innovative ideas as a key speaker and creating awareness about underlying opportunities of Financial Inclusion in J&K. The organizers expressed gratitude to Amit Sharma for making an attempt to bring J&K much closer to the delegates of BFSI Summit which can open-up vistas for investment and exploration of Jammu & Kashmir for Financial Inclusion in times to come. |
