Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 8 : Continuing to highlight the long pending demands of employees of the state government and pensioners, President National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri, today urged the State Governor NN Vohra to release two installments of 17 percent DA due from January and July last year in favor of the employees and pensioners of the State Government. As per press release, he said that another installment of 6 percent DA has become due from January 1, 2015 both central/State governments employees and pensioners. Talking to media persons here, Shastri pointed out that in view of increasing prices and inflation, the release of pending installments of 17 percent DA has become more necessary, adding that the budgetary provision for this purpose has already made in the year 2014-15 budget, so there should be no hitch for the State Government in releasing it. More so when almost all state governments of the country expect Jammu and Kashmir had already released these installments to their employees and pensioners since long. While expressing his grave concern over inordinate delay in merger of 50 percent DA into basic pay and pension which forms part of the recommendations of the 4th Pay Commission implemented since 1st January 1986, Shastri demanded early merger of 50 percent DA into basic pay / pension at the next union cabinet meeting. |
