Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 15: The Kashmir Valley administration was "sabotaging" the initiatives undertaken by the Mehbooba Mufti government for Kashmiri Pandits and ignoring her orders to release the salaries of Kashmiri Migrant employees, several bodies representing the community's interest today alleged. All Party Migrant Coordination Committee (APMCC) national spokesman claimed in a statement that the local administration was creating a rift between the Pandits and state government by "deliberately stalling" government initiatives and "disregarding" the orders of the ministers. Even the directions of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Basharat Bhukhari regarding the release of salaries of Kashmiri Migrant employees were being disregarded, the organisations alleged in a statement. He said some government officers were not releasing the salaries of the migrant employees, who had to flee the Valley following the recent unrest in the Valley. The statement was signed by All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference chief Advocate Ravinder Raina, National Conference Minority Cell president MK Yogi, general-secretary TK Bhat, APMCC chairman Vinod Pandit, and several other leaders. Alleging that the local government was sabotaging the government's initatives and CBMs for the Pandits, they said the chief minister in her meeting with APMCC leadership on November 10 had issued clear instructions that salaries to the migrant employees should be released forthwith and nobody should be forced to join duties till conditions are conducive for their return to the Valley.
The leaders demanded that the chief minister and the relief and rehabilitation minister intervene immediately to take strict action against the DDOs and DTOs who were "trying to create a rift between government and Kashmir Pandits.
