PHE Casual labors smell rat in Chief Engineer's 'reframe list' order | | | Saahil Suhail
Early Times Report
Anantnag, Dec 15: Hundreds of causal labors working with PHE department in Southern Kashmir are up in the arms against Chief Engineer Kashmir for issuing an order asking Executive Engineers to 'reframe the list of casual employees' working with department. A group of these casual employees told Early Times that they smell foul in the order as they have been list several times in past years. "We don't know why they reframing the list again and again when the data is available with them," they said. Employees said that in past such orders were issued to absorb blue-eyed people in the list. "This orders are being issued just to add, delete or absorb some people who are either political workers or working at the residential houses of officers," they added. Agitated casual employees accused bureaucrats' of complicating their problem. "For their vested interests they are issuing such orders. Instead of help they are issuing these orders to absorb more and more people in the list which creates hurdles for Government to take any decision in our favor," they said. Employees said that PHE officials know that they are working with the department since last fifteen years and are the basic foundation of the department, however still they issue such 'unethical' orders. They also blamed the self styled unions and associations for the mess. "The leaders of these unions and associations are part of the problem. They not only manage to adjust their kith and kin during this process but also blackmail deserving candidates," angry employees said. "Do you believe these self styled leaders have started demanding 1000 rupees from each casual labor working with the deportment," they added. Fearing repercussions, employee's delegation wished anonymity. When contacted PHE Minister, Sham Choudry assured action against those officers indulging in unlawful or illegal activity. "I will get the list cross checked," he assured and said that addition, deletion will not be tolerated at any cost. |
