Jammu, Dec 15 : In a PIL on dilapidated condition of roads in J&K, a high court division bench of Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Tashi Rabstan today issued post-admission notice to the Chief Secretary, PWD Commissioner, Divisional Commissioners of Kashmir and Jammu, commissioners of JMC and SMC and PHE Commissioner. The bench directed them to file response within six weeks. It has been submitted in the PIL that roads in various districts of J&K, including rural areas, are mostly in a dilapidated condition. "There are potholes and ditches which are not properly leveled and surfaced. Moreover, no footways and footpaths exist and wherever they exist they are in a poor condition and have been encroached upon," the petitioner submitted. (JNF) |
