Jammu, Dec 15: Day after Jammu and Kashmir High Court intervened and restrained the State Government from closing any government school, students and parents today termed it as welcome step and celebrated the decision. Jammu and Kashmir High Court yesterday treated the news item published in newspapers regarding closure of Government school for the purpose of parking, Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court Suo-Moto treated as Public Interest Litigation under the name of Court on its own Motion and listed before the Bench. A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur after hearing Advocate General Jehangir Iqbal Ganai with AAG Ravinder Gupta, restrained state from closing any Government school, which are functioning as on date and if any school is to be closed for any valid reason(s), permission from this Court be obtained. |
